The stability of the Travel Canoe is enhanced by the Double Chines that run the length of the canoe. One chine is formed at the juncture of the inflatable drop stitch floor and the inflatable drop-stitch sidewall, while the second chine is formed from the angle of the drop stitch side walls. The two chines combined with the flat bottom provides enough stability for you to easily be able to stand up and paddle while experiencing no loss of stability. The inflatable canoe design is also safer with the added buoyancy from the air chambers on the floor and sides. The Sea Eagle Travel Canoe is unsinkable, you can even load up to 3 people and a total weight including gear of up to 915 lbs! The enhanced buoyancy also makes the inflatable canoe safe in whitewater rapids up to Class IV.
In order to ensure that the Sea Eagle Travel Canoe is rugged and able to withstand some beatings, there are additional protective layers of 1000 denier fabric over the original layer of 1000 denier drop stitch fabric. The durability of the inflatable travel canoe is 2nd to none. The increased buoyancy provided by the 3 separate air chambers in the inflatable drop stitch design means you can load up the Travel Canoe 16 with hundreds of pounds of supplies if necessary, up to a total load of 915 lbs! The unsinkable canoe is easy to upright and re-enter from the water and at a total of 70 lbs is 33% lighter than traditional canoes. The secondary stability, stability of the canoe when standing up, is what many customers rave about.
The unique design of the Sea Eagle Travel Canoe 16 also features a bow/stern mold that cuts through the water and allows paddling speeds of up to 5 mph. The full-length flat planing surface area is designed to create lift and reduce drag while the full-length double chine system and removable rear skeg enhance tracking performance and stability. The Sea Eagle TC16 inflates in 7-9 minutes and is rated for up to Class IV whitewater.
